Hey there, time traveller!

He walks like a starting quarterback. Talks like one, too. And now the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and their faithful are going to find out if Robert Marve can get it done out on the football field.
Marve, the 26-year-old Tampa product who began the season as the club’s No. 3 pivot, will make his first pro start Friday night against the Toronto Argonauts in relief of Drew Willy, who is out for the next two months with a knee injury.
“It’s a blessing and an opportunity and I plan on making the most out of it,” said Marve. “I’m more excited than anything. My dad’s flying in (Thursday). He’s never been to Winnipeg and we always talk about the stadium so I’m excited about that.
“I was a little nervous. Then I got on the practice field and we’re still playing football. I feel good about it. I’ve gone over the plays a million and a half times. It’s time to play ball.”
A high-school star in Florida, Marve played for both the University of Miami and Purdue during his college days and overcame a serious car accident and three ACL injuries to keep playing the game.
Marve moves ahead of Brian Brohm on the depth chart, with Dominique Davis now being activated as the third stringer.
“I’ve had a year and a half, so I hope I’m ready,” said Marve. “I feel good about it. You can make the situation as big as you want or as small as you want. At the end of the day, you’re playing. I played some last year and I thought I played well last year. I learned from my mistake last week (an interception was returned for a touchdown). I got a little comfortable on the field for the first time and feel like I’m seeing everything.
“I’m not trying to be anything I’m not. I’m trying to play like I practice. I’m an energy guy. I’m here to help the team as much as I can. I’m leaning on guys like Nick Moore and Denny (Clarence Denmark) and Rory (Kohlert) and the rest of the crew… Juilan (Feoli-Gudino). I feel good about my situation. I have a lot of talent around me, I just have to get the ball out of my hands.”
