Hey there, time traveller!

Brian Brohm will be the starting quarterback on Sunday when the Winnipeg Blue Bombers take on the Saskatchewan Roughriders at Mosaic Field in Regina.
“I think he showed in practice this week his command over the playbook,” Bombers head coach Mike O’Shea said Friday afternoon following his team’s last full practice this week at Investors Group Field in advance of traveling to Regina.
“Also I’ve said all along that when Brian was given the opportunity to have a full practice week last year, he threw for a 61 percent completion percentage and a decent number of yards before he got hurt.”
This will be Brohm’s first start this season and his second ever in the CFL. His numbers in relief this year have been terrible — 28-56 for 242 yards, no TDs and four interceptions.
Brohm broke his thumb in his only other start on Oct. 18, 2014 against the Stampeders. The Bombers were trailing 23-7 when he left game that day.
Brohm said a full week of practice with the Bombers first team offence this week has buoyed his confidence. “It definitely helps a lot, just to be comfortable with the playbook, with the timing, with the receivers. It’s going to be fun, I’m looking forward to it.”
QB Matt Nichols — who the Bombers acquired from Edmonton earlier this week — is expected to make the trip to Regina and be available to come off the bench.
The status of running back Chevon Walker, who was signed as a free agent earlier this week, is unclear. O’Shea said fans will have to wait until the club releases its 46-man roster on Saturday to find out Walker’s status.
One thing that is clear is that defensive tackle Bryant Turner won’t play in Regina. Turner has an undisclosed injury and has not practiced this week. Nate Collins and Jake Thomas will both play in Turner’s place.
The Bombers (3-6) are 4 point underdogs against the Riders, who are still winless at 0-9. O’Shea didn’t much care for the bookmakers opinions on this week’s contest. “They drink a lot in Vegas, don’t they?” O’Shea grinned.
