The Winnipeg Jets’ return to action after the all-star break turned out to be a disappointing one as they fell 5-3 to the Dallas Stars at the MTS Centre Tuesday night.

Tyler Seguin led the way for the Stars, scoring twice including the game-deciding goal in the third period that put the visitors up 4-2 two minutes and 49 seconds into the final frame.

Dustin Byfuglien scored his 15th of the season to bring the Jets within one, but it was too little too late as Dallas would add an empty-net goal from Antoine Roussel, improving to 32-14-5 with the win.

The Jets fall to 22-25-3 with the loss and remain last place in the Central Division.

Drew Stafford opened the scoring for the Jets, giving Winnipeg a 1-0 lead heading into the second period.

After Tyler Seguin tied the game 51 seconds into the second frame with a power-play marker of his own, Adam Lowry, who returned to action for the first time since sustaining an upper-body injury in a 5-4 win over Nashville Jan. 14, put the Jets up once more, banging home an unassisted goal – his 4th – to make it 2-1.

The Stars would eventually even the score with a goal from John Klingberg. They would take a 3-2 lead just minutes later when Vern Fiddler beat goalie Connor Hellebuyck with a shot upstairs on a nice pass from Ales Hemsky.
