Defending champion Reid Carruthers will face second seed Mike McEwen Saturday evening in Selkirk (6 p.m., Sportsnet One) with a berth in Sunday’s Manitoba men’s curling championship final on the line.

Carruthers and McEwen both advanced to the Page playoff 1 vs 1 game with victories Saturday morning at the Viterra Championship.

Carruthers defeated Alex Forrest 4-3, while McEwen defeated Willie Lyburn 7-3.

The winner of Carruthers vs McEwen will advance directly to Sunday afternoon’s provincial final (2 p.m., Sportsnet West), while the loser will get a second chance in Sunday morning’s semifinal (9 a.m., Sportsnet West).

The game will be a rematch of last year’s Manitoba final, won by Carruthers.

Meanwhile, reigning Canadian junior champion Matt Dunstone will face Willie Lyburn in the 2 vs 2 game Saturday evening.

Dunstone advanced with a 6-3 win over Alex Forrest Saturday afternoon, while Lyburn advanced with a 5-3 win over Daley Peters. Peters and Forrest were eliminated with the losses.
