A goal from Adam Lowry at the 2:30 mark of the third period was all the Jets could muster for the better part of the game, but it was also all they needed as they topped the Vancouver Canucks 2-0 at the MTS Centre Tuesday night.

Lowry broke a 0-0 tie, the byproduct of a play that began behind the net – and traffic in front – and ended with Lowry scoring his sixth of the season. Mark Scheifele added another into an empty net with just seconds on the clock.

With the win, the Jets improve to 30-37-6, while the Canucks extend their losing-streak to five games, falling to 27-33-12.

Ondrej Pavelec made 28 saves in the win, recording his first shutout of the year. Jacob Markstrom made 47 shots in the loss.

Vancouver rolled into Winnipeg on a losing skid and are now just 3-8 in its last 11. The Canucks were blanked 3-0 by St. Louis on Saturday, their second consecutive goose egg after losing 2-0 to Edmonton the night before.

The Canucks and Jets met last Monday in Vancouver, with the visitors exiting with a 5-2 win. Winnipeg is now 3-0 against Vancouver this season.
