Inez Vystrcil-Spence has been nominated to run for the Manitoba Liberals in the constituency of Thompson in the April 19 provincial election.

Vystrcil-Spence is a health adviser for MKO and social governance consultant with a master’s degree in social work. She was born and raised in Thompson and has a home in Nelson House on the Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation, the Liberals said in a news release.

She ran for the party in The Pas byelection last year.

Vystrcil-Spence was the first aboriginal person to serve in the Manitoba legislature intern program.
