A monthly look at what’s scheduled to be added to the catalogues of streaming services Netflix Canada, Shomi and CraveTV:
TOP PICKS
A fourth season of Netflix’s hit original series “Orange is the New Black” premieres on June 17 with major changes at the Litchfield Penitentiary. Trouble is brewing as the jail shifts to a for-profit model and is flooded with new prisoners and guards. With new blood comes new power dynamics and alliances.
Praised by British TV critics as one of the best new shows of last year, the first season of “Humans” premieres on Shomi on June 10. The Channel 4/AMC sci-fi series is about a future in which humanoid robots, or synths, are mass produced and sold as servants for homes. What could go wrong? A second season of the series is in the works.
CraveTV will be rolling out the second season of the Hulu relationship comedy “Casual” starting on June 7. The first two episodes of the show — which has Canadian Jason Reitman among the executive producers — are available to stream that day, with new instalments following every Tuesday.
