ABOUT THE AVS
— Colorado captain Gabriel Landeskog has been suspended four games for cross-checking Calgary’s Matthew Tkachuk in the face during the Avs’ 3-2 win over the Flames Saturday. Landeskog, who is third in club scoring with nine goals and 17 points in 22 games, will forfeit US$119,815.68 in salary.
— C Vladislav Kamenev is out indefinitely with a broken arm. The Avs recalled C Dominic Toninato from San Antonio of the AHL to take his spot on the roster. Kamenev was injured in his first game after being acquired from Nashville in a three-team trade involving C Matt Duchene. D Patrik Nemeth (lower body) and D Anton Lindholm (broken jaw) are also out.
— G Semyon Varlamov has been cleared to play after missing three games with an illness.
— Avs head coach Jared Bednar is experimenting with an all-rookie line — comprised of J.T. Compher, Tyson Jost and Alexander Kerfoot — and the trio could be an option tonight against the Jets. The status of Winnipeg product Colin Wilson, who missed Monday’s practice with a hip/groin injury, and Landeskog’s suspension will factor into Bednar’s lineup decision. Kerfoot and Compher had been playing on a line with Wilson.
— Colorado’s top line of Landeskog, Nathan McKinnon and Mikko Rantanen has combined for 18 goals and 45 points in 12 games as a unit.
