Selkirk Avenue has reopened to traffic following an overnight fire in a church in the 600 block of Flora Avenue at McKenzie Street.
The fire occurred in a two-storey building that had been repurposed as the Celestial Church of Christ. No one was in the building at the time. The fire was called in at about 2:45, fire officials said.
Crews extinguished the fire on the first floor.
One firefighter suffered a minor injury, was checked by a paramedic and then was returned to duty. The fire is under investigation and there is no damage estimate yet.
