Winnipeg Jets fans looking to score playoff tickets may find themselves shut out if they don’t move quickly Tuesday morning.

Only 500 tickets remain up for grabs for each home game of the Jets first-round NHL playoff series against the Minnesota Wild, which is set to get underway Wednesday night at Bell MTS Place.

At 10 a.m. Monday, an exclusive pre-sale offer went online for fans signed up for emails from the Jets. Of the 1,200 individual tickets available for Wednesday’s game, roughly 700 were snatched up quickly.

The remaining 500 tickets each of the first two games in the series — and games 5 and 7, if necessary — will go on sale Tuesday at 10 a.m. and can be purchased through the Winnipeg Jets website.

But all hope is not lost for fans who miss out on buying tickets Tuesday, according to a True North Sports and Entertainment spokesman. Even once the game is officially sold out, fans may be able to get their hands on tickets in the lead-up to game day.

“I think the important message is: don’t give up. Even if we’re sold out, tickets are often available right up until game day. People need to keep checking the (Winnipeg Jets website), early and often,” the spokesman said.

“It’s important to recognize tickets do often go on sale during game day. So even when tickets seem almost depleted by Tuesday, it’s important to keep checking.”

He went on to point out some Jets season-ticket holders — who purchased playoff packages for Round 1 — may be looking to unload individual tickets before puck-drop Wednesday. Game 1 starts Wednesday, with opening faceoff scheduled for 6 p.m.

The True North spokesman also stressed it’s important for fans to avoid getting their tickets from illegal scalpers, instead using the Jets website and its official “seat exchange platform.”

He was unable to say how fast the pre-sale tickets went Monday. He also was unable to comment on anecdotal reports from a handful of frustrated fans who say they missed out on the pre-sale offer because they didn’t receive the email notification, despite being signed up for “Jets Mail.”

“Like the rest of the community, we’re excited. But we’re taking this like we did the whole season, which was one game at a time. The playoffs will be the same. One game at a time, then series by series,” the spokesman said.
