University of Manitoba Bisons soccer player Stefanie Young has been named the Canada West conference’s female first star of the week.

Young had a pair of goals and two assists to help spark the Bisons to back-to-back shutout victories last weekend over Thompson Rivers (Kamloops, B.C.) and UBC (Okanagan).

The first-year defender now has four goals on the season.

The Bisons women’s team, now with a record of 3-3, heads out for five straight road matches, beginning Saturday in Regina and Sunday in Saskatoon.
