The province announced 183 new COVID-19 cases Thursday, with 12 new deaths recorded this week.
There have been 459 COVID-19 cases and 12 deaths detected in Manitoba since Monday, the provincial government announced Thursday afternoon.
Of the 183 cases detected Thursday morning, 65 per cent of them were among unvaccinated Manitobans, most from the Southern Health region.
The provincial test positivity rate is now at 5.5 per cent; the rate is 2.5 per cent in Winnipeg.
As of Thursday, there were136 Manitoba patients hospitalized with COVID-19, and 24 of them in intensive care.
Four of the 12 deaths are linked to outbreaks at personal-care homes. There have now been 1,304 Manitobans to die of COVID-19.
Among the deceased are:
– a woman in her 50s from Interlake-Eastern health region (reported in provincial data Tuesday);
– a woman in her 80s from the Prairie Mountain Health region and linked to the unspecified variant of concern (reported Tuesday);
– a woman in her 70s from Southern Health-Santé Sud and linked to the unspecified variant of concern (reported Tuesday);
– a man in his 50s from Southern Health (reported Tuesday);
– a man in his 60s from Southern Health and linked to the unspecified variant of concern (reported Wednesday);
– a woman in her 70s from the Winnipeg health region and linked to the unspecified variant of concern (reported Wednesday);
– a woman in her 80s from Southern Health-Santé Sud and linked to an outbreak at Third Crossing Manor (reported Wednesday);
– a woman in her 70s from the Prairie Mountain Health region, linked to an outbreak at the Benito Personal Care Home and linked to an unspecified variant of concern (reported Thursday);
– a man in his 70s from the Prairie Mountain Health region (reported Thursday);
– a woman in her 80s from the Prairie Mountain Health region, linked to an outbreak at the Russell Health Centre and Russell Personal Care Home, and linked to an unspecified variant of concern (reported Thursday);
– a man in his 90s from the Winnipeg health region and linked to an outbreak at Holy Family Home (reported Thursday);
– a woman in her 100s from the Winnipeg health region and linked to an unspecified variant of concern (reported Thursday).
The province also issued 33 pandemic-related tickets between Nov. 15-21 including:
– five $1,296 tickets to individuals;
– 16 $298 tickets to individuals for failure to wear a mask in an indoor public place;
– two $5,000 tickets to a business;
– seven $1,443 tickets to individuals for the Federal Quarantine Act;
– three $8,550 tickets to individuals for the Federal Quarantine Act.
