WINNIPEG — City police are going on the offensive at Winnipeg Blue Bomber games to tackle bad behaviour from well-lubricated football fans.
Tail-gate parties in and around the Canad-Inns Stadium parking lot and private party buses that allow passengers to drink — on top of booze consumed during games — has contributed to an increase in disruptive incidents, police said in a statement.
As a result, the cops will be beefing up their presence at Sunday’s Banjo Bowl game against the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
Winnipeg police remind the public that drinking outside the stadium’s designated areas is not permitted and may result in charges under the Liquor Control Act.
