Manitoba Workplace Safety and Health is investigating after a worker died at an asphalt plant in St. Boniface.

On July 22, an employee of J D Mobile Wash was working at the plant on Mission Street when they came into contact with the blades of a generator radiator fan, a provincial spokesperson said Tuesday.

The employee was performing work contracted for WINTEC Building Services at the plant, the province said.

Manitoba Workplace Safety and Health attended the scene and issued stop work orders to both employers.

The investigation is ongoing.

J D Mobile Wash, which provides pressure washing services in southern and central Manitoba, didn’t respond to a request for comment.
