Woman sexually assaulted in Thompson

RCMP are asking for the public’s help after a woman was sexually assaulted in Thompson.

Thompson RCMP said on Wednesday a 20-year-old woman was entering the Westwood Plaza when a man walked up, touched her, and ran off.

RCMP have obtained photos of the suspect from surveillance tape in the mall and say he is described as 5-7 in height, a medium build, dark brown or black short hair, a moustache, and wearing glasses.

Anyone with any information is asked to call RCMP at 204-677-6909 or Manitoba Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, leave a secure tip at manitobacrimestoppers.com or text TIPMAN and a message to CRIMES (274637).

The teenager, who was watching the toddler while an adult was sleeping inside the suite, was taken to hospital in stable condition with a gunshot wound to her upper body.
