Hey there, time traveller!

The province’s police watchdog says no charges are warranted against an officer who shot a man accused of stabbing someone outside Siloam Mission.
The incident happened in the shelter’s parking lot at about 11 p.m on Jan. 28.
A Tuesday news release from the Independent Investigation Unit of Manitoba contains more information about the incident than previously released by the Winnipeg Police Service or the IIU. The IIU said a suspect armed with a knife repeatedly stabbed another man and refused to drop the weapon when police ordered him to do so.

The IIU said an officer fired “several” shots at the man after he swung the knife at police.
The man was hit in the head and hip but survived. The IIU has not released its report on the shooting because the man is still facing charges in connection with the incident.
The IIU said the suspect was “unable to participate in any interviews” as part of its investigation because of “his level of competency.”
No ages were noted in Tuesday’s IIU release.
A WPS news release sent the day after the shooting said the suspect was in his 20s and the victim was in his 40s.
A spokesman for Siloam Mission said at the time that the stabbing wasn’t directed at staff members or the people who use the shelter.
The IIU also said Tuesday that no charges will be recommended against a WPS officer who shot a man in front of a home on Gertrude Avenue on July 13.
The IIU said the man was holding a gun when police used a Taser on him. The man then pointed the gun at police, and one of the officers shot him, the IIU said.
The man is before the courts on criminal charges.
