Nickelback is coming back to Winnipeg, and they’re bringing some country music pals along with them.
The Alberta hard-rock group, which has won 12 Juno Awards and will be inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in March, will perform at the Canada Life Centre June 20.
Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m., at livenation.com and ticketmaster.ca, however there are fan club presales scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. this morning. Prices haven’t been announced.
Nickelback, whose hit songs such as How You Remind Me and Photograph helped earn them Billboard’s most successful rock band of the 2000s honour, are also considered by some as the most-hated band in the world.
The twist in the show, as well as most of Nickelback’s 38-date North American tour to support its new album, Get Rollin’, has two country-rock singers, Brantley Gilbert and Josh Ross, as supporting acts.
Gilbert, who headlined a concert at the downtown arena in 2018, has seven No. 1 hits on his own, including Dirt Road Anthem, which earned the Georgian a CMA Award nomination for song-of-the-year.
Ross, who is from Ontario, gained fame when he was one of three country singers who performed during halftime at the 2022 Grey Cup in Regina.
