Avery Pampolina has added to Manitoba’s medal haul at the 2023 Canada Winter Games.

The 14-year-old Winnipegger captured a bronze medal in the under-50 kilogram male individual judo competition at the Prince Edward Island Convention Centre.

Pampolina lost a semifinal bout to Connor Hazell of Alberta but rebounded to defeat Bryce Chapman of Nova Scotia to finish in third place.

Manitoba has nine medals, including three gold, four silver and two bronze. The multi-sport event wraps up Sunday.
