City snow crews prepared for Colorado low

Winnipeg’s snow-clearing operations are ready to roll as a forecast Colorado low is expected to reach the city tonight.
The city said in a statement crews are monitoring road conditions and are ready to apply salt to increase traction for motorists.
As well, the city will monitor snow levels to decide which equipment to send out to clear it.
Currently there are no winter parking bans in force.
Environment and Climate Change Canada is forecasting the snow to begin late tonight with about five centimetres to fall overnight and another 10 cm on Wednesday.
Winnipeg police to release information on a suspicious death

Winnipeg police will release information about a recent investigation into a suspicious death this afternoon.
Insp. Shawn Pike, who heads the major crimes division, will speak with reporters at 1 p.m.
Police have not said what investigation the press conference is focused on.
Loreena McKennitt returns to Manitoba for concert hall show

Loreena McKennitt, the award-winning Celtic-music singer-songwriter who grew up in Morden, returns to the province Nov. 9 to perform at Winnipeg’s Centennial Concert Hall.
Tickets go on sale April 6 at 10 a.m. at centennialconcerthall.com. Prices were not announced.
The concert will be part of McKennitt’s The Visit Revisited tour, which stops in 23 cities in the United States and Canada in the fall. She released the album in 1991, which has gone four times platinum in Canada and won a Juno Award, and will perform all nine songs from the record at the show, in addition to tunes from her other albums.
In March, McKennitt was inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame.
Man shot in Wasagamack First Nation: RCMP

A man shot in Wasagamack First Nation Monday afternoon had to be rushed to Winnipeg for treatment.
Island Lake RCMP said officers responded to the reported shooting at about 12:35 p.m.
The 27-year-old victim was first taken to the local nursing station in the community, which is about 607 kilometres northeast of Winnipeg. He remains in stable condition, RCMP said.
Mounties found a suspect, who knows the victim, at about 2:35 a.m. Tuesday. The 35-year-old man is still in custody and RCMP haven’t said whether he’s been charged.
All Jets players to don Pride jerseys Wednesday night

The Winnipeg Jets are all-in when it comes to celebrating Pride Night on Wednesday.
All players will don special jerseys prior to facing the Calgary Flames. None will opt out, which has been the case with several players and teams around the league this season.
“We arrived at that decision as a team,” forward Adam Lowry said following Tuesday’s practice. “It’s important. We want to make sure our rink, our facility is a welcoming place. Everyone can feel included.”
Three slashed with box cutter at party

Three people were slashed with a box cutter at a house party in Garden Hill First Nation early Monday.
RCMP were sent to the home at approximately 12:40 a.m.
Three victims were sent to the First Nation’s nursing station to be treated for their wounds.
RCMP said a woman who was asked to leave the party returned with a box cutter and slashed a 24-year-old woman, a 26-year-old woman and a 39-year-old man.
All three suffered “life-altering injuries,” RCMP said.
A 33-year-old woman was arrested and charged with three counts of aggravated assault, two counts of uttering threats and a single count of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
She was released from custody pending a scheduled court appearance in May, RCMP said.
