Winnipeg woman, 52, dies in Highway 59 collision
12:07 PM
A 52-year-old woman from Winnipeg died at the scene of a three-vehicle collision on Highway 59 in the Rural Municipality of Ritchot Monday evening.
St-Pierre-Jolys RCMP were called to the collision at Highway 59 and Oak Grove Road just before 6 p.m., Mounties said.
Investigators have determined a vehicle headed east on Oak Grove Road was crossing the highway when it collided with a vehicle going south. A third vehicle, also going south on Highway 59, rear-ended the second vehicle.
The driver of the vehicle on Oak Grove Road, the 52-year-old woman, was pronounced dead. The other drivers, men aged 18 and 24, were treated at the scene, RCMP said. Mounties don’t think speed or alcohol were factors in the collision, but local RCMP and a forensic collision reconstruction specialist are still investigating.
