A Manitoba mother accused of abducting her three-year-old daughter may have travelled to southwestern Ontario with the girl.

Police in Stratford, Ont., said Saturday they received information that Holly Malleck, 35, and her daughter, Amelia Deonaraine, could be in that city, which is about 140 kilometres west of Toronto.

Manitoba RCMP said they were told of a custody dispute between Malleck and the girl’s father July 7.

Malleck took the child “with intent to deprive the father of his parental rights,” police said in a news release Friday.

Crown prosecutors authorized an arrest warrant related to the alleged parental abduction, but RCMP say they have no reason to believe Amelia is in danger.

Malleck is 5-3, about 200 lbs with red hair and brown eyes, but her appearance may have changed. The girl is 3-2 and about 35 lbs with brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of the mother and daughter is asked to call their nearest police service or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
