Brandon police are reporting the western Manitoba city’s third homicide of 2023.
A 46-year-old man from Brandon was found Sunday, laying on the street with stab wounds, police said Monday.
At around 1:34 p.m. officers encountered the injured man on the 900 block of Pacific Avenue, on the north side of the City Centre Hotel. Police were already assessing the man when a 911 call reporting a possible stabbing in the same area was received.

A 46-year-old man from Brandon was found Sunday, laying on the street with stab wounds, police said Monday.
The man was transported to hospital, where he later died of his injuries.
BPS public information officer Sgt. Kirby Sararas said Monday she was not aware of a weapon yet being found.
Brandon last recorded three homicides in one year in 2019.
