Crews respond to fire on Sherbrook Street
9:20 AM
Firefighters were called to a house in the 400 block of Sherbrook Street on reports of a fire Saturday afternoon. No injuries were reported.
At 4:43 p.m., crews responded to the scene where they attacked the fire from inside, declaring it under control at 5:23 p.m.
All occupants had safely self-evacuated before crews arrived. The city’s social services team helped displaced residents find temporary accommodations.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Man, 38, fatally shot in Moose Lake

A 34-year-old man was shot at a residence in the Moose Lake and later succumbed to his injuries in Winnipeg Saturday, RCMP said in a press release.
At approximately 2:45 a.m., Moose Lake RCMP responded to reports of a shooting at the location, where they found the victim with life-threatening injuries. He was taken to hospital and later airlifted to Winnipeg. Shortly after, he died due to the extent of his injuries, police said. His death is being treated as a homicide.
Due to ongoing violence and threats in the community, the emergency response team are assisting local police to conduct check stops and patrols. The investigation in ongoing.
Suspect arrested for murder of man found on Lake Manitoba First Nation

A 36-year-old man from Lake Manitoba First Nation was arrested on Saturday for the homicide of Lyndon McIvor, whose remains were found last week, police said in a media release Sunday.
Police found McIvor’s remains were found on Lake Manitoba First Nation while looking for a missing man.
The suspect has been charged with second degree murder and was remanded into custody.
