Firefighters respond to shuttered Windsor Hotel

Fire crews are battling a blaze inside the vacant Windsor Hotel downtown.

Firefighters are on scene at a fire in the hotel on Garry Street between York and St. Mary avenues, a Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service spokesperson said.

“Please avoid the area. Nearby residents should close their doors and windows and monitor air quality,” WFPS said.

The hotel was shuttered by a provincial health order in March.

More information regarding the fire will be shared throughout the day, the WFPS said.
