Another silver for Hupé at Pan Am Games

Mitch Hupé is a two-time silver medallist at the Pan American Games.
The 28-year old Winnipegger, who entered Sunday’s playoff bracket as top seed in men’s singles tenpin bowling in Santiago, Chile, advanced to the gold-medal match before losing by 68 pins to American A.J. Johnson.
Johnson had a 795-727 edge in the three-game final.
On Thursday, Hupé combined with Quebec City’s François Lavoie to win silver in men’s doubles.
Two charged after Austin Street homicide

A man found dead has been identified, and two women have been charged.
On Nov. 1, at approximately 2:30 a.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a report of a deceased male in a suite located in the 200 block of Austin Street North.
The man has been identified as Derek Karl Stevenson, 33.
According to police, Stevenson and two women were together socializing. A physical altercation erupted, and the two females assaulted Stevenson, causing fatal injuries.
Cherilyn Ashley Duman, 20, and Calianna Grace Keeper, 20, have been arrested and charged with second-degree murder. They remain in custody.

Police investigate after two men shot

Winnipeg police are investigating after two men were shot early Sunday morning.
Officers arrived at the 1800 block of Portage Avenue at about 1 a.m. Sunday after receiving a report that shots had been fired in the area, police said in a news release.
Two men were found with “injuries consistent with being shot,” police said. The pair was rushed to hospital in critical condition.
The homicide unit is investigating. Police remained at the scene Sunday morning.
