Witnesses sought in road rage attack

Police are looking for witnesses after a 72-year-old man was assaulted and seriously injured in a road rage incident in the Osborne Village area last month.

He was driving black 2014 Dodge Caravan westbound in the 200 block of River Avenue at about 1:20 p.m. on Oct. 12 when he stopped suddenly to avoid collision with a cyclist.

The driver rolled his window down to speak with the enraged cyclist.

A third male, who police believe was with the cyclist, approached the driver’s side window and struck the victim in a sudden attack that might have involved a weapon.

The WPS is asking witnesses to call 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
