One of the suspects believed to be involved in the attempted killing of a woman found in a dumpster has turned himself in to police.

Joey Michael Audy, a 35-year-old man from Winnipeg, turned himself in and was placed under arrest Tuesday. He has been charged with attempted murder, assault causing bodily harm, uttering threats, robbery and forcible confinement. He remains in custody.

The victim, a 27-year-old woman, was found screaming for help while restrained and abandoned in a dumpster in downtown Winnipeg Dec. 10. Investigators believe she was forced to visit a home on Carlton Street where she was assaulted and then forced into the dumpster. She has since been released from hospital.
