CARBERRY, Man. – A semi that was hauling a trailer loaded with vehicles was destroyed in a fire in Manitoba.
RCMP say they responded to the blaze Friday afternoon on Highway 1 near Carberry, which is about 170 kilometres west of Winnipeg.
They say the driver of the semi was travelling west when he noticed flames coming through the firewall of the truck.
He immediately pulled onto the shoulder and got out safely along with two other passengers.
The semi and the nine vehicles on the trailer were all completely destroyed by the fire.
Highway 1 was closed to westbound traffic for approximately one hour.
