Thompson RCMP search for missing man

Thompson RCMP are looking for a 53-year-old male from Pukatawagan, who was last seen in Thompson on Dec. 26

Leslie Alphonse Linklater is 5-10, 145 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He was reported missing on Jan. 5.

Film Training Manitoba announces documentarian headliner for master-class series

American documentary filmmaker Rory Kennedy is headlining Film Training Manitoba’s upcoming conference.

The industry association invites renowned professionals to share their work experiences and provide advice to local film-makers every year via its “Film Master Series.”

This year’s event will feature Kennedy, an Academy-Award nominated and Primetime Emmy-winning creative who has made upwards of 40 films. Among her projects are: Pandemic: Facing AIDS (2003); A Boy’s Life (2004); and Last Days in Vietnam (2014).

“Rory Kennedy is an outstanding and tenacious filmmaker, and Film Training Manitoba and our partners are so honoured to be working with her to deliver this important workforce development initiative,” executive director Adam Smoluk said in a news release on Saturday.

The 2024 master-class runs Feb. 10-11 at the Manitoba Institute of Trades and Technology’s site at 130 Henlow Bay. Registration information is available at www.filmtraining.mb.ca
