NORMAL, Ill. (AP) — Myles Foster had 19 points in Illinois State’s 77-67 victory against Belmont on Tuesday night.
Foster added 10 rebounds and five assists for the Redbirds (10-10, 4-5 Missouri Valley Conference). Johnny Kinziger added 13 points while shooting 4 of 5 from the field and 5 for 6 from the line, and they also had seven rebounds. Darius Burford shot 6 for 14, including 1 for 3 from beyond the arc to finish with 13 points.
Malik Dia finished with 19 points, seven rebounds and two blocks for the Bruins (11-9, 4-5). Belmont also got 14 points and nine rebounds from Cade Tyson. Jayce Willingham also had 14 points, seven rebounds and five assists.
Illinois State took the lead with 12:13 to go in the first half and never looked back. The score was 41-30 at halftime, with Foster racking up 15 points. Dalton Banks led the way with a team-high 11 second-half points.
