EL PASO, Texas (AP) — Tahlik Chavez had 20 points in Louisiana Tech’s 65-59 victory over UTEP on Thursday night.

Chavez also contributed nine rebounds for the Bulldogs (19-8, 9-3 Conference USA). Isaiah Crawford scored 19 points and added eight rebounds. Daniel Batcho had 11 points,

The Miners (13-14, 4-8) were led in scoring by Derick Hamilton, who finished with 16 points. Corey Camper Jr. scored 10 points and Tae Hardy added nine.

Chavez scored 11 points in the first half and Louisiana Tech went into halftime trailing 31-29. The second half featured 13 lead changes and was tied five times.
