The Independent Investigation Unit of Manitoba is investigating after a suspected shoplifter suffered a punctured lung in Portage la Prairie.
RCMP spotted a suspect on a bicycle in the area of Fisher Avenue and Third Street Northwest at about 3:12 p.m. Sunday. He fled but was arrested.
The male complained of having difficulty breathing and chest pains while in custody.. He was transported to hospital, diagnosed with a punctured lung and hospitalized.
