Team Canada NextGen member Shauna Liu of Maple, Ont. has won the 2024 Canadian Junior Girls Championship at Marine Drive Golf Club in Vancouver.

Liu, 15, delivered a 1-under par performance in the final round of the tournament Thursday, finishing the week at 2-under 286.

Liu led the tournament on the second day after shooting a 1-under 71. After an intense third day, Elieen Park of Red Deer, Alta., Swetha Sathish of Oakville., Ont., Winnipeg’s Addison Kartusch and Liu were tied for first at 1-under.

Liu, with a three-birdie performance on Thursday, pulled away to sit atop the leaderboard and claim her victory.

Clairey Lin of Palos Verdes Estates, Calif. finished second, carding a 1-over 289.

Vanessa Zhang of Vancouver, Ruihan Kendria Wang of Bellevue, Wash., and Kartusch ended up tied for third place, all finishing at 3-over 291.

Kartusch, 17, who won the Golf Manitoba match play championship, women’s amateur and junior championship this year, shot 4-over 76 on Thursday, with six bogeys ending her chance of winning this week’s tourny.

With the win, Liu received an exemption into the 2024 Canadian Women’s Amateur Championship and the 2025 U.S. Girls Junior Championship.
