Police are asking for the public’s help in finding a car linked to a homicide victim.
The car is a black 2018 Honda Civic Touring four-door sedan with the Manitoba licence plate number LLN 113. The plates might have been removed or changed, the Winnipeg Police Service said in a news release Thursday that included a stock image of a Civic.
“If the vehicle is located, please do not touch it. Contact the major crimes unit immediately at 204-986-6219, or 204-986-6033 if it is after hours,” the release said.
The WPS said in a Sept. 11 news release that they believed Zeyad Shammo, a missing 22-year-old man, was driving the car. He had last been seen Sept. 9, police said that week.
Shammo’s body was found in a home on the 100 block of Bristol Avenue early Friday, the WPS said Monday.
Sonny Balemba, 26, and Robert James Chaykowski, 26, have both been charged with first-degree murder, kidnapping and extortion.
