Winnipeg police say major crimes investigators are executing a search warrant at a house on Flora Avenue east of Arlington Street.

The operation includes at least a dozen police vehicles, tactical officers armed with long rifles and a drone operator.

Officers flew the drone into the house through a broken window, a Free Press photographer said, while the police service’s armoured truck sat on the boulevard.

Police announced the operation in a social media post just before 8 a.m. Friday.

Police spokesman Const. Steven Spencer, who said he could not immediately provide further details of the operation, said area residents are not at risk.
