Henry Winkler, in town to film action movie Normal, has given the city his seal of approval.
“So happy here in Winnipeg!!!!” the Emmy-winning Barry actor tweeted Monday, along with a link to a Variety article about the production, which started shooting Oct. 21.
Winkler joins a cast that also features Better Call Saul’s Bob Odenkirk and Game of Thrones’ Lena Headey.

In the film — which hinges on a bank robbery and is produced by the team behind locally shot Netflix hit Nobody, also starring Odenkirk — Winkler plays the mayor of a tiny town in Minnesota called Normal; Headey is the local bartender.
Normal is directed by Ben Wheatley (Kill List) and was written by Derek Kolstad (John Wick) and Odenkirk, who plays the town’s substitute sheriff.
Shooting is expected to continue through December.
Nobody 2, which features original stars Odenkirk and Connie Nielsen, along with Christopher Lloyd, Sharon Stone and Jon Ortiz, was shot in Manitoba in September. It is slated for a 2025 release.
