The province’s police watchdog is trying to find a witness to a fatal police shooting at Unicity shopping centre on Sunday.
Jordan Charlie, 24, of Nunavut, was killed by Winnipeg Police Service officers after police say he stabbed an officer in the neck shortly after 5 p.m.
Video evidence recovered from the area is being reviewed, the Independent Investigation Unit of Manitoba said Friday. The IIU released images taken from video of a person who witnessed the incident, saying investigators have been unable to find the person.
The IIU asked the witness, or anyone who can identify the witness, to call 204-948-7000 or 1-844-667-6060.
