Suspect arrested in September assault

A 19-year-old man has been charged in a violent assault that occurred last fall in north Point Douglas.
Police had been on the lookout for two male suspects after a 50-year-old man was assaulted multiple times in his upper body while walking in the area of Maple Street North and Sutherland Avenue on Sept. 24, 2024. Investigators initially determined a group of men were walking together when an argument broke out and resulted in the violence before two suspects fled the scene. Police later identified a lone male suspect and determined the victim and the suspect didn’t know each other.
Brandon Shawn Kelly Murdock, 19, was located at a residence on Jan. 30 and was arrested and charged with aggravated assault.
