Manitoba is walking back a ban on American booze after Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced there will be a 30-day pause on the hefty tariffs threatened by U.S. President Donald Trump.

Premier Wab Kinew had said Sunday that American beer, wine and other alcohol would be pulled from Liquor Mart shelves, but after learning of the pause, Kinew told reporters the policy will be reversed.

He was not firm when asked if the plan to pull American liquor will be put back in place if the tariffs go ahead in 30 days, but called it an example of the leverage Manitoba had over the U.S.
