Police are still seeking possible witnesses in connection with a suspicious fatal house fire last month.
The cause of the fire, which destroyed a home in Pinaymootang First Nation, remains unknown, RCMP said in a news release Monday.
“We have spent a lot of time in the community speaking to individuals, but we know someone has crucial information to assist with our investigation,” Sgt. James Demidiuk of major crime services said in the release.
“Providing closure to the family and getting answers for the community is our top priority right now, and we are hoping to do that.”
Gypsumville RCMP were sent to the home off Highway 6 at 8:25 p.m. on Feb. 7. The remains of a person were found in the rubble on Feb. 9.
RCMP asked anyone who might have been in the area between 5 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on Feb. 7 to call their anonymous tip line at 431-489-8551.
