A second man has been arrested for a double homicide that happened in Portage la Prairie late last year.
The incident took place at a home on Oak Bay on Dec. 1.
Jeremy Whincup, 54, of Portage la Prairie, was arrested Wednesday. He has been charged with two counts of second-degree murder.

RCMP officers outside a home on Oak Bay in Portage la Prairie, after a couple were found dead in December.
RCMP previously said Preston Whitford, 30, of Portage la Prairie, was arrested Jan. 9 and charged with two counts of second-degree murder. He was also charged with four offences related to his arrest.
The victims of the double homicide were identified as James Borden, 42, and Emily Smoke, 37. The pair were in a relationship.
Whincup has a long criminal record, with multiple convictions for theft and drug trafficking, and dozens of convictions for breaching court orders. He was sentenced last year to 60 days in custody for simple possession of methamphetamine and fentanyl. Court heard at sentencing that he has struggled with addictions.
Whincup was bound by at least three lifetime weapon bans at the time of his arrest.
RCMP, who had not stated that a firearm was involved in the killings until a news release Friday, are searching for a gun or guns used in the offence.
Emily Smoke
Police are asking anyone with information about the gun or guns to call the tip line at 431-489-8106, or to contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or online.
