Three arrested after drugs, weapons seized

Three people have been arrested by Winnipeg police following a drug trafficking investigation in the Elmwood neighbourhood that began in January.
The Winnipeg Police Service’s Guns and Gangs Unit seized approximately $179,000 worth of illicit drugs and over $10,000 in Canadian cash.
On March 6, at approximately 7 p.m., an adult male was arrested as part of this investigation during a traffic stop at Watt Street and Chalmers Avenue.
A 38-year-old male from Winnipeg is facing multiple drug trafficking and weapons-related charges.
Subsequently, the Guns and Gangs Unit, along with support from the Tactical Support Team, and both Central and East District Community Support Units, executed a search warrant at a residence in the 300 block of Tweed Avenue and a female was taken into custody.
As a result of this search warrant, drugs including quantities of methamphetamine, cocaine, Gabapentin pills, fentanyl, Percocet pills, Dilaudid, psilocybin and Tylenol 3 pills were seized, as well as weapons including a sawed-off shotgun, a Glock model 44 .22 calibre pistol and two tasers. More than $10,000 of Canadian currency and a large amount of stolen property were also seized.
A 40-year-old female from Winnipeg is facing various drug trafficking, possession of property, and weapons-related charges.
A second search warrant was executed at a residence in the 500 block of Roberta Avenue and a male was taken into custody.
A 54-year-old male from Winnipeg is facing drug trafficking and weapons-related charges.
A third search warrant was executed on a storage locker at a commercial business in the 200 block of Gordon Avenue, where multiple firearms and a large amount of various types of ammunition were seized.
Both males and female were released on an undertaking.
