A 43-year-old man is dead after Winnipeg police were sent to a report of a stabbing on the 500 block of Waterfront Drive early Sunday.
Police said Kerry Eastman, a member of Sandy Bay First Nation who lived in Winnipeg, was found with “injuries consistent with being assaulted” when officers arrived at about 1:50 a.m.
Officers applied chest seals while providing emergency medical care until the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service arrived.
Eastman was taken to hospital in critical condition and later died of his injuries.
