Winnipeggers will once again get the chance to cast unwanted items to the curb for others to claim for free this weekend.
Giveaway weekends allow residents to get rid of reusable things by placing them at their front street curb and labelling them with a “free” sticker or sign.
Unsafe items, bedbug-infested items, and toilets with a flush volume of 13 litres or more are not acceptable.
Residents are asked to remove leftover items by dusk Sunday. A city spokesperson said items not removed could be considered a littering violation under city bylaws.
The city will dole out free compost at 1901 Brady Rd., the Kilcona Dog Park and the Summit Road closed landfill site from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. this Friday through Sunday. People are asked to bring their own shovels and containers.
