For the second time in three days, fire crews responded to a blaze at a vacant house on Boyd Avenue.
Firefighters were called to the one-and-a-half-storey home in the 700 block shortly after 4 a.m. Wednesday. Upon arrival, they found smoke coming from the building and launched an interior attack. The fire was brought under control by 4:42 a.m.
This is the same property where crews responded on Monday afternoon, rescuing two people. No injuries were reported in either incident.
According to city officials, no one was found inside during Wednesday’s fire. Damage estimates have not yet been released, and the cause remains under investigation.
Anyone who sees someone actively entering a vacant building, or removing boards from windows or doors from a building, should call 911 to report the incident immediately.
If you notice boarded windows or doors that have been breached, but you do not see someone actively entering or trying to enter the building, report the incident to 311 by phone or online.
