Work on a new health and wellness centre, which includes a multisport facility, in Dauphin River First Nation has been completed.
Elders from the community have decided the complex will be called the Three Mary’s Wellness Centre.
“This centre is going to help our community tackle the ongoing drug crisis facing our community members by providing active supports to help build and maintain healthy lives,” Chief Lawrence Letandre said in a news release sent by the Interlake Reserves Tribal Council.
“Our children and youth deserve a place to reinforce healthy living and to get needed support and information to achieve a healthier lifestyle, and we’re glad that the wellness centre is now open to give them that support.”
Bison Modular posted on Facebook in September that the centre would be 5,400 square feet.
