Winnipeg woman killed in two-vehicle crash in RM of Bifrost-Riverton

A Winnipeg woman was killed when her car was hit by a pickup truck at a rural intersection in the Interlake on Monday.

Gimli RCMP were sent to the collision on Highway 326, at the intersection with Highway 329 in the Rural Municipality of Bifrost-Riverton, at 4:58 p.m. and found two vehicles in a ditch.

The investigation determined the truck was travelling south on 326 when it hit a westbound sedan crossing through the intersection.

The driver and lone occupant of the car, a 34-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver, a 58-year-old Arborg man, was treated at the scene. A 53-year-old Arborg woman who was also in the truck was taken to hospital with minor injuries. RCMP said in a news release Tuesday.
