RCMP searching after man escapes from custody in Portage la Prairie

RCMP are searching for a man who escaped custody after being arrested in Portage la Prairie on Thursday night.
Byron Roulette, a 26-year-old Winnipeg man, was arrested by Manitoba First Nations Police Service officers but escaped from their custody at about 7:30 p.m. The MFNPS reported the escape to the RCMP at about 9 p.m.
Roulette was last seen on the 500 block of 5th Street Southeast. He was handcuffed and believed to be shirtless, had blood stains on his shoes and was wearing grey-brown shorts.
RCMP asked Portage la Prairie residents to be on the lookout for Roulette but warned them not to approach him. If seen, residents can call 911, Portage la Prairie RCMP at 204-857-4445 or the MNFPS at 204-843-7700.
