The Manitoba government is spending $55.2 million on infrastructure improvements in Norway House Cree Nation.

The work includes building a new airport terminal, demolishing the old one and transferring radio centre controls. Work on that project is already underway and is expected to be completed in 2027, the province said in a news release Friday.

Consultation has started on a feasibility study to replace the nearby Sea Falls Ferry with a permanent two-lane bridge. The province is splitting the cost of the study with the federal government.

About $50 million has been earmarked for two area roadwork projects. One has started, and work on the other is slated to begin this fall.
