Woman facing assault charge after wig lit on fire

A 40-year-old woman was arrested after allegedly lighting a woman’s wig on fire Friday night.

The suspect approached the 50-year-old victim on the 200 block of Hargrave street and verbally confronted her, a Saturday media release states.

Using a portable butane torch, police say the woman lit the victim’s wig on fire and walked away.

The victim removed the wig, and the suspect allegedly returned to physically assault the victim.

Police arrested the woman and she is facing a charge of assault with a weapon. She was release on an undertaking.
